We are pleased to be able to offer in the European market what is probably the last edition of a KARUIZAWA bottling. This project was planned by Distilla for many years with the aim of combining the most successful casks from the 60s to the 2000s in a legendary bottling that impresses with both sensitivity and great design. Two editions are now available: a pure sherry cask edition CRANE / GOLD and an edition with a focus on ex-bourbon casks TURTLE / SILVER. Each edition comprises 158 bottles.

Since this project had been in the pipeline for some time, Distilla did everything it could to make the bottling a special experience. They started with the exquisite design, followed by the selection of the highest quality whiskies. Their goal was to find a point where uncompromising quality meets customers' expectations of a whisky that is not overly expensive and yet meets the standards of collectors.

To achieve this, the finest casks were carefully selected, including some of KARUIZAWAs highly acclaimed Hall of Fame bottlings, such as two casks from the 60s.

Each decade is represented by its finest examples, capturing the essence of the world-renowned Japanese whisky. Shaped by a rebellious youth and the rise of disco music, there are representatives from excellent casks from the 70s.

The 80s and 90s show many facets, with outstanding KARUIZAWA NOH casks selected. The balance was also complemented by younger vintages from the 90s and 2000s, but only to the extent that it could ensure that unrivalled quality and high alcohol content could be maintained.

 NOSE ...wow, there's a lot of fruit here, like peaches, you'd think you walk in a pastry shop with a large selection of pastries. To be more precise? Strawberry-rhubarb jam on buttered croissants, vanilla crescents. Then something sweeter - eucalyptus and pipe tobacco and honey milk?  Known as one of the most legendary distilleries in the world, KARUIZAWA Distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery known for its high quality and exquisite whiskies. The distillery was founded in 1955 and has since earned an outstanding reputation in the whisky world. Unfortunately, KARUIZAWA was shut down in 2000 and closed in 2011. One of its pot stills was demolished and given to the SHIZUOKA Distillery.

 Due to the increasing popularity and demand for Japanese whisky in recent years, it was revived and went back into production in 2024. The existing KARUIZAWA Distillery bottlings have continued to increase in value and investment potential. Many connoisseurs and collectors consider the distillery's whiskies to be sought-after collector's items with considerable potential for increasing in value.
